Cho Chang and the Goblet of Fire
Source: 7Extra

Another newbie in the Harry Potter world : Katie Leung is Cho Chang, a Ravenclaw student, who is going to change Harry’s mind. You knew that! But, to know more about the nice Katie and her thought about the movie, read the following quickly.

Happy to be Harry’s girlfriend?
Of course I’m happy. Many girls would dream of it!

You’re gonna make some jealous, aren’t you?
Probably yes, considering Daniel has so many fans. But I guess they’ll see the difference between the movie and the real life. I’m not Daniel’s girlfriend!

Are you afraid of the fame you’ll get with this movie?
At the moment it’s okay. Nobody knows me yet. But I imagine it’ll change when the movie comes out. I think it’s going to be funny (laughs)! When I hear the others talking about their fans, they’re saying that everything always goes right, without any problem so, no, I’m not afraid.

Is it really your first movie?
Yes, it is really my first experience. There are so many talented girls but, however, I’ve been chosen. I’m not going to feel sorry for me!

Isn’t it difficult to star with such a big movie?
I had no experience so I didn’t feel really assured. I was wondering why they took the risk to engage me. But everything happened well.

What do you think you have more that the 3000 other girls who tried to get the part?
Maybe it’s that I come from Scotland like Cho.

Do you have other similarities with her?
Like her, I’m rather an emotive person. I haven’t as many success as her with the boys. This is the big difference between us. She plays Quidditch too so she is very athletic. I’m not really.

Did you read the books and watch the movies before you got the part?
I saw the three movies and I thought they were awesome. But I just read the first two books. And then, when I got the part, I read the others. Cho only appears in the last books so I had to know what it’s all about!

Which is your favourite character?
Ron Weasley! He’s so funny.

And is he (Rupert) your favourite in the real life too?
Yes! Hum ... (laughs) No, no I like everyone.

Are you friend with the other actors?
Yes, we’re all very good friends. And it’s better like that since we’re spending a lot of time together.

They know each other since the first movies, wasn’t it difficult to be a newbie?
I thought I would be because they know each other for years but it wasn’t. Though, I did spend more time with the new actors. It’s like the first day at a new school, you don’t dare to speak to the most famous students at first.

Were you stressed the first day?
Yes, I was very nervous. It was the first I met the other actors and we began to shoot immediately. It wasn’t easy for me, plus it was my first day on a set.

Did Daniel, Rupert or Emma give you some tips?
They told me over and over to be myself and not to be afraid of playing in front of everyone. They told me they were all actors so they wouldn’t think I’m crazy to laugh and cry over order (laughs).

How was the set?
It was unbelievable. Like if it was another world. And everyone was really nice.

Who were you looking forward to see?
Mainly Daniel, Rupert and Emma. I think everybody would like to meet them. They look so nice on the screen. Now I know they’re nice in the real life too.

Which were your favourite and less favourite scenes?
I loved the Yule Ball scene. I had a beautiful dress, and we had to dance, it was quite cool. We had a lot of dance lessens to get ready. The most difficult one was the diving scene. I was in the water, waiting for someone to rescue me. We worked hard. It was very difficult. But I’m pretty sure the boys told you the opposite (laughs).

Are you ... Harry or Ron?
I don’t know, they have their own qualities. I like Harry because he’s famous and powerful. And I like Ron because he’s funny.

Dumbledore or Voldemort?
Dumbledore! I’m a good girl. Though I’d like to get into the dark side too, just to see.

Play or watch the Quidditch?
Watch! I’m not very athletic.

Chocolate Frog or Bertie Bott’s bean?
Chocolate Frog. I don’t really like candies with odd flavours.

Now that she did her first movie, does she think about becoming an actress for the rest of her life? “I had a lot of fun, it was a great experience, and this is the most important thing for me. But I want to stay at school and go to the university.” Doesn’t she hope to get other opportunities? “Each movie has a great success. Difficult to stay anonymous! So yes, I guess it can open a few doors. But I don’t really want to think about that right now. We’ll what will happen.” But we’re not there yet since Katie has to shoot the next movie, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.
