The Champion and the Crush!: Katie Leung (November 2005)
Source: K-Zone Australia

Of the thousands of girls dying to play Harry Potter's love interest, Cho Chang, Katie Leung won the part. A mega fan of the gang, she was once entranced by the actors she now calls her best buds!

This is your first movie ever. Were you nervous on your first day when you met Emma, Daniel and Rupert?
Absolutely. I remember the first day I met them and I just couldn't believe it. They're all great actors and I hadn't done anything before so it was really nerve-wracking. I couldn't believe I was there. I think I'm still in shock a bit!

Did they help you out at all?
They really did. Daniel was really helpful and gave me some good advice about acting and being natural. We all became great friends.

What was the most challenging scene for you in The Goblet of Fire?
There's one scene where I have to cry a lot and I thought the camera was on me, then I found out it wasn't [laughs]. I'd been crying for 10 minutes so I didn't have any tears left! When they told me I had to start crying again it was really hard. I managed it somehow, though.

How tricky was this movie to make?
There were a lot of special effects and it's an amazing undertaking, particularly the underwater scenes which I'm sure would look incredible. It's difficult in parts when you're making it, but everyone had so much fun too that sometimes it didn't even seem like work. I loved every seconf of being a part of it.

Tell us a behind-the-scenes secret about The Goblet of Fire?
[Oliver] and James Phelps, the Weasley twins, are always playing practical jokes. A lot of people think Rupert would be the one playing the practical jokes 'cos he plays Ron and he is really funny, but its Fred and George Weasley who like to muck about a lot!
