Radcliffe, who as Harry enjoys his first kiss in the new film Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, with newcomer Katie Lueng, said he was nowhere near as nervous as being naked in Equus, a play in which his character attacks horses.

"Kissing Katie was a very comfortable experience especially when compared with being naked on stage and blinding horses, which I am sure Katie will be relieved to know," he said.

However, his partner in the film, who will be the envy of girls around the world, was not so comfortable.

Miss Leung said she was nervous about the kiss, in case her parents didn't like it.

"It's a very endearing and sweet scene," she said. "Hopefully my parents will find it sweet as well."

The kissing scene took 30 takes to get right. "Daniel was great," she said. "I'm sure everyone wants to know if he's a good kisser and he definitely was. I had so much fun filming it. We were a bit nervous, but I think after the first few takes we started enjoying ourselves."
