Old news is good news

Saturday, May 30th, 2009

Well, can’t make up news, so I’ll just have to find it. MTV were given a sneak peek of the upcoming sixth installment, ‘Half Blood Prince’, and celebrated by posting a few interviews with the cast. Wait, don’t jump on your horses yet – Katie wasn’t interviewed, but she did have a tidbit written about her, in regards to her filming schedual for ‘Half Blood Prince’:

Once casting was completed, the actors had a read-through — excluding Katie Leung, said the actress who plays Harry’s former crush, Cho Chang. Not because Cho is not to be seen in this next installment — which you might have guessed from the way their love story ended in “Order of the Phoenix,” out Tuesday (December 11) on DVD — but because Katie started university in the fall. She’ll be back on set in January to shoot her “Prince” scenes and hopes to be back yet again for the finale scenes in “Deathly Hallows.” source

I hope that was as exciting for you as it was for me. :P And no, we do not currently have any confirmation on Katie’s role in ‘St. Trinian’s', but we’ll keep an ear out for anything new!

Latest Katie fanletter, plus gallery layout

Monday, March 30th, 2009

Thanks to the wonderful Vanessa from our previous comments for posting a translation of Katie’s most recent fan response (I’m assuming). The original scans can be seen here.

Dear Fans,

Thanks for your letters and support. I am really sorry to let you guys waited for so long for this reply letter. Let me tell you all a secret. I went to china, hong kong this summer for a tour which let me gain a lot of insights and knowledge, especially china is a place full of culture diversity. This is really an eye-opener and left me a very heart-warming feeling.

This year is a special one as the hosting country of Olympic is our country-china. The day of the opening ceremony is the same day of my birthday which is even more meaningful. Every day, I would watch the Olympics on the TV, hoping to provide a encouragement to the china athletes. While watching them performing, I would say, “*jiayou, jiayou”! I feel honor for china.

Since the last time I went to promote harry potter, I don’t know Chinese at all. I felt really ashamed because I cant communicate with you all, please forgive me. So now, I have already studied Chinese for some time, hope the next time we will be able to communicate using the same language. And now, as Chinese, I feel proud and honor.

Lastly, I will work hard to master Chinese and will go back to china, hong kong to meet you all again. Really sincerely thanks for your support and trust.

Chat next time.

Wish every day happy <3 <3

Yours,
Signature of Katie.

And due to a flurry of requests, I’ve uploaded what is claimed to be some of Katie’s photography. Featuring shots of nature and herself, these shots are now located in our galleries. These photos may be removed at any given time, just a little warning. Thanks to Angelia for the tip and the photos. Removed.

And hopefully you’ve noticed that a new gallery layout has been added, along with a few more random high qualities from appearances from 2007.

Katie’s Photography on Display!

Sunday, October 26th, 2008

Katie is rumoured to attend this display to present her work, as a part of silver celebrations of Hamilton College!

The work of former pupil Katie Leung, who is known to millions of people worldwide as Cho Chang from the Harry Potter movies, will be on show at the school.

Clare Ross, one of the show’s organisers, commented: “Many of our celebrated artists will be present at this exhibition. They have been invited by Alan Wilson, who is head of our art department and has been with the school since it opened its doors. source

Also, thanks to commentator mio, we have a link to an audio interview with Katie from way back from the Scottish Style Awards last year. Katie talks about fashion, Potter, Hong Kong and plans! Check it out here.

At the moment I’m studying photography at university in between acting … I was a complete amateur when I started on the course, so at the moment I’m studying and researching … bought one … of these proper paparazzi photographers.

Finally going to uni … is really good. source

Issues with the host are currently being resolved, so hang tight.
