Old news is good news

Well, can’t make up news, so I’ll just have to find it. MTV were given a sneak peek of the upcoming sixth installment, ‘Half Blood Prince’, and celebrated by posting a few interviews with the cast. Wait, don’t jump on your horses yet – Katie wasn’t interviewed, but she did have a tidbit written about her, in regards to her filming schedual for ‘Half Blood Prince’:

Once casting was completed, the actors had a read-through — excluding Katie Leung, said the actress who plays Harry’s former crush, Cho Chang. Not because Cho is not to be seen in this next installment — which you might have guessed from the way their love story ended in “Order of the Phoenix,” out Tuesday (December 11) on DVD — but because Katie started university in the fall. She’ll be back on set in January to shoot her “Prince” scenes and hopes to be back yet again for the finale scenes in “Deathly Hallows.” source

I hope that was as exciting for you as it was for me. :P And no, we do not currently have any confirmation on Katie’s role in ‘St. Trinian’s', but we’ll keep an ear out for anything new!

Katie got the role?

The Sunday Mail is reporting that Katie has gotten the part in the ‘St. Trinian’s’ sequel, but Olivia warns that official cast announcements won’t occur until late June or August. Still, let’s keep our fingers crossed for some new Katie news! New project means new pictures!

Harry Potter star Katie Leung is quitting Hogwarts to become a sexy St Trinian’s schoolgirl. The 21-year-old from Motherwell – who played Harry’s first love Cho Chang – is being lined up for St Trininan’s sequel The Legend of Fritton’s Gold. source

Remember, this isn’t official until we get the cast announcement straight from the production company, h’okay?

Speaking of new photos, I managed to track down some brand new photos from the Scottish Style Awards from way back in 2007. They’re tagged, unfortunately, but they are very cute and pretty! Looks like Katie got a bit of a surprise as she tried to leave the event! You can view the new photos here in our galleries.

Thanks to a tip from Walissa in our comments, we have sort of Katie news, which is probably the best kind of news! Seeing as we’re currently in Katie-drought (but we’re almost positive she’ll be attending at least one of the premieres!), here’s a short little article on the clothing of ‘Half Blood Prince’, including a caption with – shock!horror! – Katie!

DRESSED TO IMPRESS: Katie Leung and her fellow cast will be sporting Lochaven garments in Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. source

Hopefully, news will pick up soon. ‘Half Blood Prince’ promotional season is just under two months away! Thank you once again, Walissa, for the news!

You may remember a while ago I posted a rough translation of Katie’s newest fanmail and fanmail response. Thanks to Kerry we’ve had someone look over it with fresh eyes and come up with a new-updated translation! Thanks again to the combined efforts of Kerry and Vanessa!

Dear Fans,

Many heartfelt thanks for your letters and support! I’m very sorry you had to wait for such a long time before you could receive a reply from me.

Let me tell you a secret. This summer, I toured China and Hong Kong, which was a real eye-opener – especially China, which has such an amazing and diverse culture. This trip broadened my horizons, and made me feel more intimate and closer to my home.

This year has been very special indeed, mainly because China was selected to be the host of the 2008 Olympics. The opening ceremony coincided with my birthday as well, which made it even more significant. I sat at home in front of the television every day, as a gesture in support of our Chinese athletes. Whenever it was time for their event to begin, I couldn’t help but shout, “Jiayou!”. I truly feel immensely proud of China.

(Interesting note: A direct translation of “jia you” would mean “add fuel” in English. Jia = add, you (pronounced as ‘yoe’)= oil/fuel. Since ‘add fuel’ doesn’t exactly make sense in English, it just means “Go!” Chinese is indeed a very interesting language)

Since my last trip to China where I was promoting the Harry Potter film, I didn’t know a single Chinese word, which made me feel very ashamed. I wasn’t able to communicate with you, and I do hope you’ll forgive me for that! Because of this however, I have been learning Chinese for quite some time now, and I hope that in our future meetings, we will be able to share a common language. Now, I am truly able to appreciate my Chinese roots, and feel honored and proud of being Chinese!

I will definitely try my best in mastering the Chinese language, and I am definitely visiting China and Hong Kong more often in the near future. I do hope I will get to meet you once more there! I would like to say a huge “thank you” once again, I truly appreciate your efforts and support.

Talk more next time!

Wishing you happiness everyday

Yours truly,

As you can see, Katie news is a bit slow, but never fear – there is plenty of behind-the-scenes work going on here at Katie Leung Fan! Some of you would love to hear, I’ve finally started work on the video archive – there’s only 12 or so videos at the moment, but it’s growing, promise!
